3 Perfumes I have a Love-Hate Relationship
Do you have perfumes in your collection that you have a love-hate relationship with? I know I sure do! Now here are my choices, which I know some of you will disagree with, but that’s the thing with fragrances, they can be very subjective to the person using them.
As I will explain later in the post, I have a love-hate relationship with these 3 perfumes. Some I don’t like using much, and others, maybe it’s a fact, they work best for layering. Read on to check out my reasons.
Alien by Mugler
Now I don’t like complaining too much about this perfume because I get why people might like this perfume. It’s beautiful with its blend of flowers such as Jasmine, but I feel like it’s a little overpowering for me most days. But on the flip side, I like wearing it when it’s an event or something in that department.
I have had this for so many years, and it is on 30ml, so I can’t imagine I am going to be finishing it anytime soon.
Choco Musk By Al-Rehab
Now I don’t dislike this perfume at all, but it’s not a perfume I would wear single, it needs a little help by layering it with other perfumes, this way it just amplifies it to another level, which I love.
Layering it up with a perfume with vanilla notes really does elevate this perfume to amazing levels.
Orchid Soleil by Tom Ford
I saved some look fantastic coupons from getting Glossybox a few years ago, and when I finally had enough, I decided to get my first Tom Ford perfume! Damn… I should have gone for something else because for me, the notes in this don’t work well at all. Lord have mercy, it’s something I rarely go for.
It has spicy, floral and vanilla notes, which for me aren’t right. On the other hand, this is one of my daughter’s favourite perfumes, so I can’t complain too much because it’s being used and loved!

Nice. I don’t wear a lot of perfumes but my daughter has tons. She has a love/hate relationship with Billie Eilish’s No 2 perfume. She says it smells like old tires but she loves Billie, so she owns it, ha.
This is so relatable! There are a lot of things that I enjoy, but then I get tired of them at the same time.
Yes I do have many perfumes that I have alive and hate relationship with. One of the is the Rihanna brand
I actually can’t have perfumes because they give me migraines, but I wish I could. The bottles are so beautiful. I remember having a collection when I was younger though. I had a really nice collection then.
I’ve had my eyes on the “Choco Musk By Al-Rehab” from hearing all the great reviews from buyers. I will buy this perfume after your review, and will be sure to layer it!
While all these perfumes are new to me, I get what you are saying about that love-hate relation. and that idea of layering perfumes is so cool, never thought of it before
I am very intrigued to try the choco musk. I imagine the combination of chocolate and musk might be very interesting.
Metallique was the one I struggled with. I loved it but there was something slightly off-putting to me. I ended up trading it.
All these perfumes look premium. Thanks for your recommendation!
I am not a huge perfume wearer, but some of these bottles are fantastic. I can totally get the concept of layering perfumes – sounds interesting.
I have this too, mainly with perfumes that just never seem to go down – just finish and be gone!
